French opinion on the most polluting internet technologies in France 2020
In 2020, when French people were asked if internet technologies would be a good way to reduce the environmental impact in the future, most of them argued that the digitalization of activities would have no more nor less of a positive or negative impact on ecology. However, when they were asked which technologies had the most impact, about 73 percent mentioned data storage in the cloud, followed by the download of files. Music streaming was the type of action perceived as having the least impact (66 percent of respondents).
