In 2023, the arms sales revenue of the 25 world leading arms companies amounted to 445 billion U.S. dollars. This was an increase of over 15 billion dollars or nearly 3.6 percent compared to the previous year. The revenue of arms companies has increased over the last years as global defense spending has increased significantly amid rising conflicts and tensions worldwide, including the Russia-Ukraine war, the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza, and escalations in East Asia.
