In 2020, the State of Lagos held 45 percent of the box office generated in Nigeria. Indeed, Lagos has the largest number of cinemas in Nigeria and generated over 900 million Naira in box office. Overall, the South-West zone of the country had the largest number of cinemas, mainly concentrated in the cities Lagos and Ibadan.
