A major merit of the sharing economy on personal circumstances is considered to be the possibility to save money as revealed in a survey conducted in 2021 in Japan. While around one in four respondents agreed to the financial impact of sharing services, only around ***** percent saw an opportunity in the shared market to meet people and increase their circle of acquaintances.
*Respondents were made up of 1,000 participants who were aware of the sharing economy and 1,000 participants who had no prior knowledge of sharing services.
Figures represent the share of respondents who agreed that the sharing economy has an impact on each statement.
According to the source, sharing economy is defined as an economic activity of mediating idle property (and non-physical things like skills or time) owned by an individual on online platforms for other individuals to use if needed.
