Patiala district in the Indian state of Punjab had age adjusted incidence rate of brain cancer cases among male of only over three cases per million male adults between the years 2012 and 2016. Whereas, the age incidence rate of brain cancer among women in that region was over two cases per million females in the country.

Population Based Cancer Registries (PBCRs) provides cancer incidence rates, compares cancer incidences and patterns across other registries including different subgroups of populations in the respective areas.
Age-adjusted rates is a cacluation made to afford fairer comparisons between groups with different age distributions. For instance, in a population, the age-adjusted rates for the sample under study would have the same age distribution as the standard populaiton.
