In 2021, when asked how they feel private equity will perform against benchmarks over the next 12 months (2022 projection), the majority of institutional investors expressed positive expectations. A total of 92.5 percent of LPs stated that they believe benchmarks will be met or exceeded. The LPs that believed that private equity will fall below benchmarks amounted to 7.5 percent of respondents.
