Switzerland accounted for 22.6 percent of all gold imports worldwide in 2022, and was the world's largest gold importer based on value. China was second that year, with 17.6 percent of all gold imports. Behind the leading two gold importers was the United Kingdom, accounting for 9.6 percent of global gold imports.
