Fintech VC deal count in Europe Q1 2018-Q4 2024

The number of investment deals in the European fintech sector declined significantly in 2022 and 2023 and remained at those lower levels throughout 2024. In the fourth quarter of 2024, a total of 179 fintech deals were recorded, marking the second-lowest number in the observed period. Additionally, the value of VC-backed funding in fintech companies decreased notably, reflecting the broader downturn in investment activity.
