Self-sufficiency rate for fruit Germany 2006-2024
In 2023/24, fruit in Germany showed a self-sufficiency rate of around 20 percent. That's a decrease to the previous year.
The self-sufficiency rate represents a number which shows the percentage of necessary agricultural products produced domestically, i.e. which share of agricultural products necessary for the market can a country produce on its own. In case of shortage, which is a self-sufficiency rate under 100 percent, imports become necessary.
