In 2021, a survey conducted among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Thailand found that the services sector was the most adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic compared to SMEs in other sectors. The pandemic affected the services sector by around 68.9 percent according to five different factors which were calculated from the loss of income, being forced to reduce costs, facing increase in sunk costs, and facing more risk in maintaining operations.

Impact from COVID-19 is calculated by share of companies which has experienced the five different measurement factors during the pandemic. The five factors include loss of income, being forced to reduce costs, experiencing more sunk costs, and facing more risk to maintain operations.
