During the third quarter of 2024, around 41.5 percent of female internet users aged between 16 and 24 years were using their mobile devices or smartphones to make video calls. Only 35.5 percent of men in the same age group were doing the same. Mobile video communication apps have become increasingly popular in recent years, with WhatsApp counting approximately two billion monthly active users as of April 2024.
