Plans to follow Tokyo 2020 Olympics events in Russia 2021, by age

One fifth of Russians planned to regularly follow the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, according to a survey from July 2021. Respondents aged 60 years and older were the most interested in the Tokyo Olympics, at 34 percent. The largest share of those who did not plan to follow the events was recorded in the age group from 31 to 45 years.

At the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, Russian athletes represented the Russian Olympic Committee. In total, the ROC won 20 gold, 28 silver, and 23 bronze medals at the competition. It was estimated that Russia paid a bonus of 61 thousand U.S. dollars for winning a gold medal at the Olympics.
