In a survey conducted between April and May 2021 among residents of the Tokyo Metropolitan Area, the majority of the respondents stated that they were not interested in moving to rural areas without changing jobs. More than 54 percent of the respondents reported no interest due to the lack of opportunities to work remotely at their current job.
