About ** percent of retailers selling cosmetics online in Russia in 2021 were broad profile stores. Approximately one third of the retailers were specialized in self-care cosmetics, while perfumeries made up ** percent of online cosmetic shops on the market.

The study included 48 online stores of beauty category (specializing in retail of decorative and self-care cosmetics, perfumes, products for manicure and pedicure masters, and make-up artists) listed in the 1,000 largest Russian online stores by orders volume, four online stores of network marketing companies, and two largest universal marketplaces - Wildberries and Ozon. Only online sales of cosmetics in the Russian territory were taken into consideration (excluding export sales).
