In 2019, the export of cocoa and cocoa preparations from Madagascar amounted to an approximate value of 30 million U.S. dollars. This was an increase in value in comparison to the preceding year, when roughly 22 million U.S. dollars of the products were exported. Furthermore, the Netherlands was one of the main trade partners of Madagascar in terms of cocoa exports, with a share of around 53 percent.
