According to a survey on subscription video on demand (SvoD) conducted by Rakuten Insight in June 2024 in Singapore, having a greater variety of content than cable or satellite TV was the leading reason for subscribing to SvoD services among Singaporean subscribers, as stated by almost half of the respondents. Another leading reason for subscribing to SvoD services in the country was affordability, as stated by 43 percent of the respondents.
