According to a survey conducted among English adults in May 2021, approximately 35 percent of people thought that the school system in England had deteriorated since 2011. Parents with children aged between 17 and 18 were the most likely to say that the English school system had gotten worse in last decade, while parents with children aged between 5 and 11 were the most inclined to say that it had improved.
