In 2021, the cost to own a petrol two-wheeler annually was around 25.2 thousand Indian rupees, with the presumption of a 10 year lifespan of the vehicle. For every kilometer, the annual cost of operation amounted to 3.5 Indian rupees, making it more expensive than electric two-wheelers. However, the lack of charging facilities is still hampering the enthusiasm for electric vehicles in India.
