In 2022, the size of cold chain industry in India was around 7.2 billion U.S. dollars, and it is forecast to reach 36 million dollars in 2027. In 2021, pharmaceutical products took up more than two-thirds of the cold chain storage in India. As of 2020, it was estimated that India had around 37.4 million metric tons of cold chain storage capacity. Due to the low cost of manufacturing and governmental subsidies, India houses the world's third-largest pharmaceutical industry.
