In 2023, gold in Ghana contributed around 8.6 billion Ghanaian cedis (GHS), roughly 580 million U.S. dollars, to the country's gross domestic product (GDP) at constant prices. Compared to the previous year, the value added of the precious metal increased. Considering the period reviewed, the highest contribution was registered in 2019, at approximately 9.8 billion GHS. Overall, the contribution of gold to Ghana's GDP fluctuated.
