In 2021, Romania recorded 18.6 major lower extremity amputations for people living with diabetes per 100,000 population. Furthermore, in that year there were 18.4 lower limb amputations per 100,000 in Czechia. Sufferers of diabetes have a greater risk of lower leg amputation.
