The carbon intensity of Germany's power sector decreased by almost 10 percent in 2023, to 381 grams of carbon dioxide per kilowatt-hour (gCO₂/KWh) of electricity generated. Since 2000, Germany's power sector carbon intensity has decreased by more than 30 percent.
