Informal sector enterprises in Kenya 2019, by activity
In 2019, over 60 percent of informal enterprises in Kenya operated in wholesale and retail trade, as well as repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles. That year, the country had nearly five million enterprises in the informal sector. Manufacturing followed as the second main activity in the informal sector, accounting for 12.5 percent of total enterprises.
