The demand for psychiatric healthcare services in China increased significantly in the past decade. In 2021, psychiatric hospitals in China saw more than 51 million patient visits, reflecting a significant increase from 2020 and doubling the figures from 2010. The number of psychiatric hospitals also spiked sharply during the same period, meeting the needs of the general public.
