Leading social media usage reasons in Spain 2023

A survey conducted in the third quarter of 2023 found that more than half of internet users in Spain used social media to stay in touch with friends and family. Filling spare time and reading news stories were also among the main reasons for using social media, representing around 46.9 and 43.2 percent of users, respectively. Finding content like videos or looking for things to do or buy was also important for around 33.2 and 30.7 percent of the respondents while on social platforms.
