The European Union (EU-27) exported more than 225 billion euros worth of chemicals in 2023. Specialty chemicals was the segment with the highest export value that year, at around 71 billion euros. Meanwhile, the largest contributor to the EU's chemical imports was petrochemicals, at over 74 billion euros.
