When interviewed ahead of the World Refugee Day of 2024, around 42 percent of Canadians were convinced that Canada must close its borders to refugees entirely, and that the country could not accept any at this time. This is a 13 percentage point increase from the previous year, when 29 percent of Canadians shared this opinion.
