The Netherlands was the main destination for liquefied natural gas (LNG) exported from the United States in 2024. That year, some 463.8 billion cubic feet worth was shipped to the Netherlands. From 2022 onward, there has been a notable shift in main importers as European countries looked for alternatives to Russian-sourced gas. As a result, of the ten largest importers in 2024, six were countries in Europe.
