In May 2020, a survey of people's gambling habits in Australia during the coronavirus crisis found that the prevalence of gambling across all wagering types had decreased in comparison to April 2019. Overall, the prevalence of respondents engaging in any form of gambling dropped from **** percent in April 2019 to **** percent in May of 2020, before increasing to around **** percent in November 2020.
The May and November 2020 ANUpolls collected information from 3,219 and
3,029 respondents aged 18 years and over across all eight States/Territories in Australia. 94.7 per cent of respondents who completed the November 2020 survey also completed the May 2020 survey. 54.6 percent of respondents who completed the May 2020 data collection, also completed the April 2019 collection.
