Almost 70 billion U.S. dollars was raised from global emissions trading systems (ETS) in 2024. The European Union Emission Trading System (EU ETS) raised the most revenue that year by far, at 42 billion U.S. dollars. The United Kingdom was previously part of the EU ETS, but replaced this system with the UK ETS after withdrawing from the EU. The UK ETS generated over three billion U.S. dollars of revenue in 2024.
