Number of sheep slaughtered for public consumption in Portugal 2020-2024
In 2022, the number of sheep slaughtered for public consumption reached an average of more than 58 thousand heads per month. In November 2024, the number of slaughtered sheep totaled around 32,250 heads. The figure reached the highest number in March 2021 with more than 150,000 sheep slaughtered for public consumption. In the chart the highest number of sheep slaughtered usually corresponds to holidays months, such as December, and March, or April.
