New passenger car registrations in Austria had been declining between 2017 and 2022, but grew to nearly ******* in 2023. The sharpest decline during this period occurred between 2019 and 2020, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, when year-on-year registrations fell by nearly a quarter. Meanwhile Austrian used car registrations have remained comparatively stable.
