In 2023, Turkish Airlines' greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions were approximately 27.5 million metric tons of CO₂ equivalent, around 19 percent more than the previous year. In the past seven years, the national flag carrier's emissions followed an increasing trend, except during the pandemic. According to Turkish Airlines, the company tackles climate change and reaches the targets International Air Transport Association (IATA) set through fleet modernization and using alternative fuels.
