In the fiscal year 2023, the expenditure on defense-related procurements by the Acquisition, Technology & Logistics Agency (ATLA) of Japan amounted to approximately 5.57 trillion Japanese yen. The figure increased considerably compared to previous years, reflecting the change in Japan's defense-related program, away from the Mid-Term Defense Program, to the Defense Buildup Program.
