Hydrogen production forecast share worldwide 2050, by technology

A forecast modelled in the Accelerated Energy Decarbonization Scenario (AEDS) estimates that half of global hydrogen production will be attributable to blue hydrogen technology by 2050. Green hydrogen, a technology that involves natural gas steam reforming with carbon capture and storage, is forecast to account for a 41 percent share of hydrogen production in 2050.
