Credit card purchases in France averaged roughly 50 euros, or nearly 60 dollars, in 2021 - a value that was higher than in previous years. This is according to estimates based on the overall value of credit card transactions against the number of transactions within the country. These numbers have only been reported on an annual basis. Notable for France is the significant decline in 2019, only for figures to pick up again in the following years.

Unlike several countries, card figures for Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden are reported can be found at both the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) and the European Central Bank (ECB). Figures are not always comparable, though, due to tracking or reporting standards. This is especially for credit cards.
