The coverage ratio for non-performing loans (NPLs) in Greece increased significantly in 2022. In 2011, the coverage ratio peaked with ***** percent, but it was still significantly lower than in 2008. This indicator shows the value of provisions to non-performing loans as a share of the overall value of NPLs in the country. Because of that, banks with a high NPL coverage ratio are more likely to be able to absorb losses.
