Monthly revenue of the Suez Canal 2021-2024

As of September 2024, the monthly revenue of the Suez Canal in Egypt reached 15.5 billion Egyptian pounds (close to 303.4 million U.S. dollars). This represented a decrease from the 16.5 billion Egyptian pounds (around 323 million U.S. dollars) generated the prior month.
It is worth noting that since March 2022, the Egyptian currency value has dropped significantly and, therefore, can be linked to the increase in revenues of the canal around the same period. That month, the exchange rate of one U.S. dollar was equal to almost 15.7 Egyptian pounds, while by September 2024, one U.S. dollar is equal to around 51 Egyptian pounds.
