According to the National Health Survey conducted between January 2022 and April 2023 in Australia, nearly 40 percent of young Australians between the ages of 18 and 24 years had used an e-cigarette or vaping device. Less than two percent of respondents aged 65 or over had used an e-cigarette or vaping device.

Notes from source: Under-reporting of smoking rates and e-cigarette or vaping use in young people may have occurred because responses were provided by an adult living in the same household (77.3% of people aged 15-17 years were reported on by another person in the household) or due to reluctance to report use in cases where other household members were present when completing the survey.
