Russian pipeline natural gas imports to the EU 2019-2024

The European Union imported 31 billion cubic meters (bcm) of natural gas from Russia via pipelines in 2024. That was a significant decrease in comparison to 2022, when the EU imports of natural gas via pipelines from Russia amounted to 63 bcm. This drastic decrease was due to the Russia-Ukraine war, which has resulted in EU sanctions on natural gas from Russia.
