A total of **** million metric tons (Mt) of liquefied natural gas was imported into North America in 2022. The U.S. was by far the leading importer of LNG that year, amounting to **** Mt. This was followed by Mexico at **** Mt of LNG imported in 2022. Both Canada and Mexico's imports decreased in 2022 compared to 2021, as opposed to the United States.
