In 2024, Norway was the major supplier of natural gas via pipelines to the European Union, which amounted to 83 billion cubic meters (bcm). In comparison, Russian and Algerian pipeline natural gas amounted to 74 bcm. Since 2022, the Russia-Ukraine war led to drastic decrease of the monthly natural gas imports from Russia into the EU as a result of sanctions.
Azerbaijan and Libya were also listed by the source as sources of pipeline natural gas imports to the EU, but specific figures were not provided.
For 2024 no exact figures were specified, and only percentages were given. Around one-fifth came from Russia and Algeria each, the rest corresponded to other suppliers.
