Total investment as a share of GDP in Mexico 1980-2030

In 2024, the total investment as a share of the gross domestic product (GDP) in Mexico stood at approximately 24.16 percent. Between 1980 and 2024, the figure dropped by around 5.40 percentage points, though the decline followed an uneven course rather than a steady trajectory. The share is forecast to decline by about 0.41 percentage points from 2024 to 2030, fluctuating as it trends downward.

This indicator describes the ratio of total investment in current local currency to GDP in current local currency. The International Monetary Fund defines the total investment as the overall value of the gross fixed capital formation as well as changes in inventories and acquisitions less disposals of valuables. GDP, on the other hand, represents the total value of final goods and services produced during a year.
