In Portugal, the consumption of cereals decreased in 2020/2021, when it reached 119 kilograms per capita, but increased again in the following harvest season, when 126 kilograms were consumed per person. By 2023/2024, this value increased again to 128 kilograms. Wheat is, undoubtedly, the most consumed cereal, with almost 110 kilograms per capita in 2023/2024. Maize follows, but at an immense distance, not even reaching 13 kilograms per individual. In third place, rye had a consumption of three kilograms per individual in the same year.
