As of 2024, Asia had the largest renewable capacity installed worldwide, with roughly 2.4 terawatts. Europe and North America followed with an installed renewable capacity of approximately 850 and 570 gigawatts, respectively. 
In 2023, global installed renewable energy capacity reached some 4.4 terawatts, up from 3.8 terawatts in the previous year.
