Vistra Corp greenhouse gas emissions 2010-2023
Vistra Corp's Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions totaled 87 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e) in 2023. Texas based energy company Vistra Corp's GHG emissions have decreased by almost 50 percent since 2010, and are estimated to decrease further in 2024. Vistra Corp has set an emissions reduction target of 60 percent below 2010 levels by 2030, and aims to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. Vistra Corp was the largest corporate greenhouse gas emitter in the U.S. in 2021, and owns several of the most polluting power plants in the country, such as Martin Lake Power Plant.
