Branch banking usage decreased gradually between 2019 and 2024 among bank account holders in Spain. According to Statista's Consumer Insights, the share of bank account holders who processed banking affairs in person in a branch was 34 percent in the fourth quarter of 2024, 12 percentage points lower than in the first half of 2019. In comparison, branch banking usage was significantly higher in the U.S. during the same period, where almost half of all respondents still processed banking matters in person in 2024.
