Alongside being the most downloaded online marketplace app, the Amazon Shopping app was also the most downloaded shopping app in the country overall. With so many downloads, the competition among leading sellers on Amazon’s Canadian platform is steep. The consumer electronics brand JETech came out on top as of September 2023, ranking number one as the seller on amazon.ca by number of positive reviews. The second-hand e-commerce brand Momox followed in second.
How popular is m-commerce in Canada?
Compared to the global average, mobile commerce in Canada is notably less favored. Regardless of shopping and marketplace app downloads, on a monthly basis, Canadians shop 20 percent less on their mobile phones than online shoppers worldwide. When it comes to shopping online, purchases made on desktop devices make up the highest share of e-commerce sales in the country, with no major changes to this distribution forecasted in the next coming years.
