Most trusted news sources in EU member states 2023, by age group
A 2023 survey across all 27 European Union member states held among people aged 15 years and older found that public television and radio stations were the most trusted source of news, whereas influencers, blogs/podcasts, and video platforms fared less well. Respondents were also more hesitant to trust people they knew or followed on social media, whereas the written press was trusted by between around 30 to 40 percent of respondents, depending on age. Younger consumers aged between 15 and 24 years had more faith in influencers than their older peers, with 21 percent saying they trusted them for news; seven times the share of adults aged 55 or above.
