Almost one year earlier, in May 2023, the share surpassed 50 percent. Meanwhile, the percentage of WhatsApp users disagreeing with the idea of receiving ads through the app went from 25 percent in 2023 to 36 percent in 2024. According to the same study, over 80 percent of Brazilian WhatsApp users received sales offers from companies they had never contacted through the app.
